The number of children, aged 0-5, enrolled in EFS partner centers increased since January 2018 from 6,000 to more than 7,000 today. Receiving the million-dollar challenge match this past year inspired us to strive to provide high-quality early learning to another 1,000 children by the end of 2020.
Key factors in EFS reaching more children: 1) bringing new centers in underserved neighborhoods into our “Four Steps to Excellence” to become nationally accredited preschools, 2) adding early education specialists to train and mentor partner center directors and teachers, 3) connecting parents in need of child care with an EFS assisted school, and 4) keeping children enrolled.
We are passionate about reaching more children by the end of 2020 and beyond. Currently, there are 4,825 children in quality, 1,890 children in the pipeline to quality, and 302 children in quality home-based care, totaling more than 7,000 children receiving or on the path to receiving a quality early start.
These results happen only as funding increases. EFS’ generous donors are the first key factor in meeting our goal to bring more children into high-quality early education!
