Educational First Steps Hosts Reception for “Striving for Greatness with Allyson Felix” Benefit Gala

DALLAS, TX – Vickie Allen- Brown, President and CEO of Educational First Steps and event co-chairs Angela Hosseini and Lupe Mora-Duarte recently joined guests at a celebratory reception in recognition of the organization’s upcoming “Striving for Greatness with Allyson Felix” benefit gala presented by The Addy Foundation. Over 500 guests are expected to be in attendance of the highly anticipated event taking place on Tuesday, February 20, at the Ritz-Carlton in Dallas.

Guests in attendance included Darcy Anderson, Robin Berkley, Marsha Brito, Andrea Carter, Angela and Hesam Hosseini, Tiffaney D. Hunter, Libby and Isaac Manning, Paige Hendricks Russey and Bob Russey, Patrick Reardon, Margaret Spellings, Gail Stoke, David Munson, Jr., Margo McClinton Stoglin and Cynthia

The “Striving for Greatness with Allyson Felix” benefit gala will present Early Childhood Champion Awards
to longtime Educational First Steps supporters; the Berry Corporation and Jennifer Mosle. The evening
will then proceed with an inspiring conversation between Allyson Felix, the most decorated track and field
Olympian, wife, mother, and women’s rights activist and Kristi Nelson, three-time Emmy Award-winning
news anchor with NBC5. An eleven-time Olympic medalist, seven-time Olympic champion, and world
record holder, Allyson will share how she has been able to transform adversity into winning opportunities
and discuss the many ways she is actively advocating for women. A few local track and field students and
coaches as well as EFS community schools and daycare partners have been invited to attend this special
