After five years of remarkable leadership, advocacy, and inspiration, our President & CEO, Vickie Allen, will be stepping down to join our friends at The Dallas Foundation as their new Chief Impact Officer. Vickie has been a leader of integrity, wisdom, and joy, building a solid organization that will profoundly impact and expand quality early childhood education in our communities.

As Vickie transitions to this new role, she will continue to be our strongest advocate and thought leader within the philanthropic community.

Vickie’s final day will be Friday, September 6th. While we are sad to say goodbye, we are immensely grateful for the legacy she leaves behind and are confident that both Vickie and Educational First Steps will continue to achieve great things. On behalf of our team and board of directors, thank you, Vickie, for all that you have done, and congratulations on this exciting next chapter.

The board will appoint an interim CEO at the beginning of September and proceed with a longer-term transitional plan to identify a permanent CEO. We are confident that this process will bring in a leader who aligns with our values and vision for the future.
