Cedar Hill, TX, October 13th, 2022 – Olive’s Lil Angels Learning Center (OLALC) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide a superior preschool and early childhood development program that serves children ages six weeks to 12 years old. Founder Shaneka N. Hogg, started the program in her Cedar Hills home, caring for just 12 children at a time. In 2007 she expanded her license and moved to a larger space, allowing her to serve over 120 children at a time. It was that same year that Olive’s Lil Angels joined the EFS Four Steps to Excellence Program – embarking on their journey to educational excellence and eventually national accreditation.
We are extremely proud to share that on September 19th, 2022, Olive’s Lil Angels Learning Center earned national accreditation from NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). NAEYC Accreditation is a rigorous and transformative quality-improvement system that uses a set of 10 research-based standards to collaborate with early education programs to recognize and drive quality improvement in high-quality early learning environments. To earn NAEYC Accreditation, Olive’s Lil’ Angels Learning Center went through an extensive self-study and quality-improvement process, followed by an on-site visit by NAEYC Assessors to verify and ensure that the program met each of the ten program standards and hundreds of corresponding individual criteria.
“At Olive’s Lil’ Angels Learning Center, our primary goal is for children to feel safe and secure. Additionally, we believe that a learning environment that fosters respect for cultural diversity and utilizes an eclectic approach to education allows for optimal growth and development of young children.” – Shaneka N. Hogg
This is an immense accomplishment for both the center and Shaneka. Congratulations, OLALC, on reaching this incredible milestone, and thank you for the hours and hard work that goes into creating high-quality education for the children you serve!
