Changing the odds
for kids in North Texas & beyond

What we do

Educational First Steps (EFS) empowers early childhood educators and childcare centers to provide high-quality learning environments for children from birth to age five, particularly in historically under-resourced communities. Through professional development, mentoring, and business support, EFS partners with childcare centers and home-based providers to improve teaching practices, achieve national accreditation, and ensure children are prepared for success in school and beyond. EFS aims to level the playing field, offering every child access to the education they deserve, regardless of their economic background or zip code.

Why it matters

Humans are born to learn — and infants start learning from day one!

In fact, 90% of all brain development happens before age 5. The more enriching their early childhood, the better foundation kids have for future success in all areas of life And when kids are set up for success, their communities are, too! We invest in early learning experiences because they lead to transformation across generations.

"The journey toward quality is continuous, and Educational First Steps has been a steadfast partner in this process. Through their unwavering support and collaboration, we were able to achieve National Accreditation-a milestone that has strengthened both our enrollment and reputation. For their dedication and commitment, we are truly grateful."
