Daisy Cano-Esparza

Daisy is the former Executive Director of the AVANCE North Texas chapter, part of a national non-profit organization that aims to break the cycle of inter-generational poverty through innovative, two-generation education and support for families with young children.

Daisy was with Avance for over eleven years and is thrilled to bring all her experience, talent and knowledge, leveraging her leadership skills, and impeccable analytical skills to support the mission of Educational First Steps. In her role, she will oversee the Four Steps program including functions, evaluation and outcomes, training and development, and all things related to high-quality early childhood education.

She graduated Summa Cum Lade from Sam Houston University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She holds two Masters’ degrees; one in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington and another one from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Bilingual Education.
